VE Day: Britons urged to celebrate 80th anniversary with street parties as flypast, processions and concerts planned
Victory in Europe Day, known as VE Day, is celebrated on 8 May to mark the day the Allies formally accepted Germany’s surrender in 1945.
The Parish Council is very keen to mark VE80 Day! We encourage all residents to decorate their homes in red, white and blue to mark the celebrations. The Parish Council will also be holding events on the day – please look out for poster invitations. We look forward to seeing as many of you decorating your homes and welcoming you to events, including the reading of the proclamation at 9:30am and the lighting of the beacon in the evening.
